ENSCI User Panel 2025 report released

ENSCI User panel just released its 2025 report, in which they emphasized ENSCI's critical role in enabling US-based Euclid science investigations, and gave high marks for ENSCI work in the past year. You can read the report here.

Key Details from the Report:

General comments from the Panel:

  • Appreciated ENSCI’s work on unresolved items, including advocating with ESA for panel priorities.
  • Encouraged ENSCI to work towards better and broader advertisement of user support and resources.

Quick Release Q1 (March 2025):

  • “ENSCI has done an excellent job in producing the necessary resources for scientists to access and incorporate Euclid data into their science,” including notebooks, webinars, and supporting IRSA
  • “ENSCI-developed notebooks are extremely impressive and will undoubtedly be a useful tool for users”
  • “The accompanying webinars are vital in providing context to the notebooks.”
  • The Panel provided suggestions for future notebooks 

Data Release 1 (October 2026): 

  • The Panel “…appreciates the forward-thinking of ENSCI to prepare the US user community for the much larger volume of… DR1.”

User Survey:

  • “this was a well-run survey that provided ENSCI with useful information for planning purposes.”
  •  Many participants were not aware of the EGIP call and the Panel encouraged ENSCI to explore additional ways of advertising future calls.

Complementary Euclid Archive at IRSA

  • “The current visualization and catalog services are excellent resources for the community to help maximize their access and analysis of Euclid data.”
  • “ENSCI should continue to coordinate with IRSA on the development and advertisement [of IRSA’s tools].”
